Versace opens new store in Amsterdam, The Netherlands
After an absence of more than a decade, Versace has returned to the Dutch capital with a larger store and a wider array of offerings. Once again situated on P.C. Hooftstraat, Amsterdam‘s luxury shopping destination, the new boutique occupies 170 sqm. (1,830 sq.ft.) spread across two floors of a 20th-century red brick structure.
Designed by the in-house design team of the Milan-based luxury brand, the premises see a lavish interior design according to the latest Versace retail design codes. The white Venus marble store façade is adorned with a gold Medusa head, the brand’s logo, reflecting not only a timeless glamour, but it also hints the modern opulence which can be found inside.
On the ground floor, flooring of custom-made eucalyptus wood tiles are paired with gold-trimmed, wall-to-ceiling shelving with marble backdrop and a series of matching display cabinets which include the same materials. At the far end, a more intimate setting with seating can be found, captured by blue-tinted marble as a backdrop, a matching side table, velour sofas and sleek shelving.
On the first floor where men’s and women’s apparel is presented, the atmosphere changes yet again, featuring whitewashed walls and elegant, floor-to-ceiling brass clothing racks in and fluffy carpeting in an ochre hue. The new Versace boutique carries men’s and women’s apparel, but also accessories, shoes, bags, watches, jewellery and eyewear.
Versace is fully owned by Capri Holdings (Michael Kors)
