Luxury Italian fashion house Versace has opened a new 3000 sq ft flagship store on New Bond Street in London.
Originally announced in January 2020, and planned to open this past autumn, it has finally opened its doors to new customers this December.
The new store spans across three levels in a prime corner position, formerly occupied by Bally.
Located in one of the world’s most expensive shopping locations, it was designed in keeping with the label’s store concept originally created by architect Gwenael Nicolas, described by the company as “a celebration of the brands exquisite luxury”.
Featuring both menswear and womenswear, the brand’s ready-to-wear collection and accessories are showcased in the store on white marble counters.
Sustainability has also been key throughout the development, from the choice of materials used, to flexibility and management of the store.
Versace Chief Creative Officer, Donatella Versace, said: “I have always loved London because it’s always been a step ahead of any other city. It was inclusive many years before inclusivity was even a thing, diverse long before it was a topic of conversation.
“Its subcultures had such a strong authenticity to them, that they grew to become global trends. For so long, London has been the place to look at for creativity and new ideas. This is why it has had a special place in my heart for so long. Always looking beyond rules, always thinking outside the box.”
Earlier this year Capri Holdings, which owns Michael Kors, Versace and Jimmy Choo, announced plans to focus its attention on issues such as material sourcing, greenhouse gas emissions, water use and waste reduction.
